What I'm Thankful For In 2020

Updated: Dec 4, 2020

Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍽🍁

This year, I decided to make a list of 20 things I’m grateful for this 2020:

1. My health (and that of my friends and family). This year has been tougher than most and taken many lives from us all (including my Uncle Steve), and I am thankful for my physical and mental health allowing me to take care of myself and support others.

2. My parents, brother, and extended family. They are my main support system and have been by my side every step of the way.

3. My friends. Without them, I wouldn't have anyone to cheer me up when I am down.

4. My upbringing. I am grateful for my close-knit family: two wonderful, loving parents (including a stay-at-home dad) and a brother who gave me the best childhood I could have ever asked for.

5. My privilege. I am thankful to live in America, have a college degree, be able-bodied, have health insurance, access to the Internet, and for the affluence of my family that made these things possible and made my life easier in many aspects.

6. Pain and my personal hardships. Without these, I wouldn’t be able to grow as a person and experience happiness and success.

7. My job and coworkers. I love my job as a medical scribe and the people I work with make me love it even more. I also am thankful to have found this job in the middle of a pandemic.

8. Rock climbing. Going to the rock climbing gym is the place where I can test the limits of my own physical capabilities and develop full-body strength that energizes and invigorates me.

9. Dance and music. These both go hand and hand but I am grateful for them for calming me and serving as an outlet to express my emotions and get away from the world.

10. Food, clothes, and multiple places I get to call home. I am thankful for good food, having options of what to wear each day, and always having a roof over my head.

11. Freedom of speech. I’m thankful to be able to express my opinions on here with you all and share positivity with the community.

12. Volunteering. I’m grateful to be able to serve with Meals on Wheels and give to my neighbors, especially during this time when they need it the most.

13. Technology. I appreciate technology for making my life easier in many ways and its ability to bring about connection with the touch of a button.

14. Unity. I’m thankful that even though this year has caused a lot of tragedy and loss, people have still found a way to come together as one.

15. The holidays. I’m grateful for Thanksgiving and Christmas and the spirit of the season and getting to cherish time with friends and family.

16. Painting. I’m thankful to get to spend my time creating art and painting rocks as a form of stress relief.

17. The abundance of culture in the world. I’m happy to have the opportunity to travel and immerse myself in others’ cultures and histories. I cannot wait to meet more people and learn about their culture.

18. Education and wisdom. I’m thankful for my educational opportunities and the wisdom I’ve gained with age by becoming my own person and learning from my mistakes.

19. The future. I have hope that positive change is upcoming and will make the world a better place.

20. You! Yes, I’m thankful for you, the reader of my posts. Without you, I wouldn’t be here, so I appreciate the support and I’m thankful that you take the time to read my blog. ❤️
