Vote, Vote, Vote!

Looking for something to do this weekend? Why not VOTE! šŸ—³šŸ“¬ I originally was going to vote absentee this year, but I decided nothing beats the in-person experience of voting and I wanted to be positive my vote was counted in time since I still hadnā€™t received a ballot by mail.

Hereā€™s how voting worked: After walking in the General Registrarā€™s Office, you follow the social distancing stickers on the ground to the upstairs voting area. There are workers to guide you if you get lost. Once upstairs, you check in at a table and provide your drivers license (or another valid form of ID). Then they will direct you to another table where you will receive your ballot, specific to your district. After that, you head to an empty partition table to cast your vote. Not only do you get to vote for President, but also Congress, Mayor, and City Council which ALL have an impact on you and your community. When finished, you get to slide your ballot into the voting machine yourself and make sure your vote gets counted. šŸ—³šŸ’Æ

Then, you get a sticker to wear around for the rest of the day to show that you fulfilled your civic duty to vote! Donā€™t let any news about long lines deter you from voting. I went in last Friday around 1pm to vote and there was NO LINE...the whole process only took me 10 minutes! šŸ¤Æ It was a lovely and satisfying experience that left me feeling good all day (way better than the last general election where I waited in line for over an hour). šŸ˜Š The last presidential election was determined by just 0.06% of the total votes (79,646 votes in 3 states). Your vote DOES matter and DOES make a difference, so head on out to the polls if you havenā€™t yet! šŸ¤ā¤ļøšŸ’™
