The Long Awaited Birthday Dinner At L'Opossum

DRUM ROLL PLEASE…for one of the BEST meals of my lifetime!!!! 😍😩😋🤤🥵🤩 L’Opossum has been on my bucket list since I first started this blog and I finally got to go for my birthday last month…and I can say I’m still riding the @lopossumrva high one month later ✨ We started with the Le Rubirosa, French Tickler, and Desert Bloom Inferno cocktails and after trying a little of each, I have to say the first one was my favorite! 🍸

For entrees, I wanted both the Filet of Beef Swellington and the Swank Bank and didn’t want to share, so my parent’s gift to me was letting me order both lol 😅 The steak was amazing especially with the shaved black truffle on top, but the real star of the show was the veggies it came with (mushroom, onions, carrots, and beans) which were SO flavorful and reheated well at home too. 🥩🥕🧅

The lobster mac was also incredible and I had enough leftover for 2 meals! 🦞🧀 My mom ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes and the presentation was just SPECTACULAR…I mean, it basically came with a whole tree growing out of it. 🤣

For dessert, I tried The Devil’s in the Details, Le Petite Mort Au Chocolate En Flambé, and Oregon Hill Alley Apple. 🍨 The former was my favorite, but I also can’t deny I’m a sucker for a good flambé. 🤤🔥

@chefdavidshannon did not disappoint and might be my new favorite chef here in RVA 👏 Aside from the food, the vibe was immaculate and I was OBSESSED with their collection of Star Wars plates decorating the walls. 💯 L’Opossum gets booked months out, so this is another place you gotta plan farrrr in advance! From the ambience to the food to the service, someone might as well give L’Opossum a Michelin Star at this point GEEZZZ!!!! 🤷‍♀️ I’m begging you all to go ASAP…best meal of your life I SWEAR 😭
