Ever heard of a Stroopwaffle? I hadn’t until I tried some from Capital Waffle Shop! Stroopwaffle is Dutch for “Syrup Waffle” and is a wafer cookie made from 2 thin layers of baked dough joined by caramel filling. 🤤 Capital Waffle sells rotating varieties, but currently has White Chocolate Oreo Dipped (pictured) and White Chocolate Sugar Dipped (not pictured). The cookie was so yummy and makes the perfect pairing to a hot chocolate (or hot coffee/latte). 🍪☕️ They come in heat sealed bags so they would also make a nice holiday gift for coworkers or friends, each one is $2.99 or you can get a dozen for $29.99.
I also tried out the Sriracha Mac & Cheese Queso Waffle (which to be clear, is side sized and is why I ordered two) which is one of their featured menu items currently and was oozing with cheese. 😍🧀 It was a tad cold by the time I got home but it wasn’t anything a microwave couldn’t fix.
Lastly, I got an Oreo milkshake and let me tell you, their milkshakes are some of the best I’ve had in Richmond (and also come BOOZY)! 🍪🍦
Capital Waffle has a second location on the VCU campus (hence its name Campus Waffle) but check out the menus before going since they serve slightly different things!‼️ If you order online for takeout like I did, make sure you order directly from their website...DO NOT order from third party platforms such as EatStreet! 🚨 They will charge extra and take away money that should be going to the restaurant, and no business needs that right now. 🙅♀️ Capital Waffle has an ENORMOUS selection of breakfast/lunch/dinner/dessert waffles as well as build your own waffles, egg bowls, and rice quinoa bowls so there’s something for everyone to try! 🍳🥓🥪🌮🍔🍫🍭
