Still Waters Run Deep at the Floodwall

I didn’t even realize I caught the river on a still day until someone pointed it out to me. Thought the reflection of the city on the river was so neat! 🛤🏞🌉🏙 The floodwall is such a great place to go on a walk and get a great view. In my opinion, it is the place to get one of the best views of the city! If driving, you can access the East entrance via the parking lot at 101 Hull St or the West entrance via the Manchester Climbing Wall parking at 500 E 7th St. If walking you can access the East entrance by crossing the Mayo Bridge/14th St Bridge into Manchester or the West entrance by crossing the T. Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge out of downtown Richmond.

This is the walking path I did when I went to the Floodwall! If you start near Brown's Island and make a loop, it is about 2.4 miles total and about 49 minutes. It is a nice route because you can stop at the Manchester Climbing Wall and Overlook, T. Pott Bridge, Brown's Island Canal Walk, Canal Walk Murals, Pipeline, and anywhere else nearby to take pictures. I love going on walks that have tons of history behind them, it's so fun to learn about your city as you exercise!
