Pop's Market Is Back And Better!

If you didn't hear, Pop's Market on Grace closed in July due to financial constraints caused by the pandemic. But now, this Richmond staple is under new ownership by @chef.m.lindsey and just had their reopening on Saturday! 🥳🎉🙌 Pop's was formerly a family-owned business run by Josh and his mother, Patti Wright, and was named in honor of Josh's father, 'Pop.' Moving forward, Mike Lindsey aims to honor the base set in motion by the Wright family over the last 6 years and carry on the pop's tradition. He plans to keep the same menu and even worked with previous chef Josh Wright to perfect all the recipes. 👏

I went to Pop's during their soft opening over the weekend and tried the Cuban and Pop's Deluxe sandwiches. My favorite of the two was the Cuban which had ham and refried pulled pork with blended cheese. 😋 The garlic mayo and mustard condiment combo was SO good and I loved the kick of spice added by the jalapeños. 👅🌶

The Pop's Deluxe was also on cuban bread with all the meats, cheeses, and toppings you can think of. 🥪 This sandwich was MASSIVE and I could barely fit it in my mouth (🤣)...it definitely lasted two meals for me. I'm the type of person who needs something salty and crunchy with my sandwiches, so I also got some delicious Miss Vickie's jalapeño chips (idk about you but I was obsessed with these growing up). 😍

Pop's is open Wednesday-Sunday from 11-4 for both dine-in and to-go and is located in the heart of downtown RVA, right across the street from one of Mike Lindsey's other restaurants, Lillie Pearl. I can't wait to see the fresh, new ideas brought to Pop's...of course, while sharing the same level of love and generosity with customers as the Wright family did through the years. 🤍
