Modern Mexican in a Beautiful Setting

Happy Valentines Day! ๐Ÿ’• For dinner, I went to Maya Mexican Grill on Grace St. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿš It is super close to The National and Carpenter Theater so it would make the perfect dinner before/after watching a performance.

I started with some salsa and azul guacamole which had grapes, green apple, and blue cheese and was a surprisingly tasty combination! ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ๐Ÿง€ For entree, I ordered the chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce which came with a side of rice and beans. It was a good portion and the presentation was absolutely beautiful. ๐Ÿ˜ The food would have been a lot better if it came out warmer though. I donโ€™t know about you, but I like my food piping hot and if there isnโ€™t steam, it isnโ€™t hot enough. ๐Ÿฅต It was a busy night, so it also took a while (>30min) for the server to bring out the checks. ๐Ÿ˜

The atmosphere of the restaurant was stunning: high ceilings, gorgeous artwork, dim lighting, and massive windows. Overall, the food was good quality, but I think the experience could have been better if the service had matched the same level as the food and intimate ambience. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
