Have you been to RVA's newest pop-up, JewFro? šŸ™‹šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø It was created by the well-loved makers of Soul Taco and serves traditional Jewish food fused with unique African flavors.

The menu is so exotic and unconventional that it even has a glossary to help you understand some of the menu terms! šŸ˜‚ TBH, even with the glossary, I still didn't really know what I was ordering, so I just picked at random because all the lunch options sounded delish lol. I tried the Deli Roll and the JewFro Burger which were both divine. šŸ˜ The Deli Roll featured a puff pastry stuffed with corned beef, pastrami, and turkey and as an everything-bagel-lover, I thoroughly enjoyed the pastry seasoning and homemade mustard dip. 🄯

The JewFro burger was my favorite though because of its mouth-watering lemon-harissa aioli and challah roll which was some of the best flaky goodness I've ever had on a sandwich. šŸ”šŸ˜‹

For sides, I tried the lemon-herb chips and the Israeli salad which were both refreshing. My friend got the Doro Wat Roast Turkey sandwich and said they especially enjoyed its Ethiopian spice. šŸ„ŖšŸ’„

The pop-up is located in the Belle Restaurant space of the Hampton Inn & Suites (where Kabana Rooftop is) and reservations can be made online. The decorations were slightly unusual as they somewhat gave off a party vibe with a disco ball, streamers, and photo booth area, but hey, I'm not complaining. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

My friend and I had the whole restaurant to ourselves for most of our meal, so it is definitely a great place if you're looking for a private cozy atmosphere. They also have interesting brunch and dinner menus if you want to try some other one-of-a-kind flavors you LITERALLY can't get anywhere else. Remember, JewFro is a POP-UP which means that they will ONLY be around for another month ish...so RUN, don't walk! šŸƒšŸ½ā€ā™€ļø
