Looking for some fun things to do while in DC? Here’s a list of some places I went when I visited a few weeks back:
1. Kayaking on the Potomac River at Key Bridge. This was my first time kayaking and it was so much fun! I booked a one hour kayak rental with DC Boating and it was the perfect length of time to see some monuments and ducks while paddling. DC Boating also offers paddle board and kayak tours of the monuments along the Potomac River if you prefer a guided tour! I booked my reservation at Key Bridge (in Georgetown) but DC boating also has multiple other locations along the river where you can rent. 🛶

2. A new underground speakeasy in DC. Never Looked Better just opened on Blagden Alley last month and it has been a hot spot ever since! You first enter down a staircase and end up in an underground cocktail bar decorated with neon signs and black lights. I went on a Friday night when there was a DJ and the drinks were fantastic! 🍸

3. The exorcist steps in Georgetown. These stairs were featured in the ending of the movie “The Exorcist” where one of the characters falls to his death. It was pretty cool (and a lil scary) to walk down them!
📍: 3535 Prospect St NW, Washington, DC 20007

4. Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument. Of course, you can’t go to DC without visiting the National Mall and some of the monuments! I even discovered a tiny bookstore within the Lincoln Memorial with small trinkets…perfect for a history-lover or to commemorate your trip. 🏛
📍: Lincoln Memorial - 2 Lincoln Memorial Cir NW, Washington, DC 20002

📍: Washington Monument - 2 15th St NW, Washington, DC 20024

Visiting DC is always a BLAST, especially when your list of things to do are simple to plan, fun, and memorable! 🤩 I hope this list helps out some people that are looking for things to do this holiday weekend or in the future, and as always, reach out to me if you have any specific questions! 💙
